Below are answers to the 5 main questions that we are being asked by customers. Please read through this information before calling or emailing us as it will hopefully give you the details you are looking for.
1. WHERE CAN I FIND OUT WHICH DESTINATIONS ARE ADVISED AGAINST TRAVEL BY THE UK GOVERNMENT?
The latest travel guidance information from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) can be found here
2. I AM DUE TO TRAVEL TO A DESTINATION WHERE THE UK GOVERNMENT HAS ADVISED AGAINST TRAVEL. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Your policy does not provide cover for cancellation due to a change in FCDO travel advice and you will not be covered if you travel to a destination where the FCDO has advised against cover. In the first instance, please contact your tour operator, travel agent, airline or accommodation provider. In most cases, your holiday or flights will not be operating and they will offer you an alternative trip or a full refund. If you are not going to travel and no longer need your policy we can provide a 100% refund if you cancel it within the 14 day cooling off period. If you decide to cancel your policy outside of the 14 day cooling off period, for single trip policies a 50% refund is available. If you decide to cancel an annual multi trip policy after the 14 day cooling off period, then a pro rata refund will apply. Please send us an email if this situation applies to yourself.
3. I AM DUE TO TRAVEL TO A DESTINATION WHERE THE UK GOVERNMENT HAS NOT ADVISED AGAINST TRAVEL, BUT I DON'T WANT TO GO. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Your policy will not cover you for disinclination (not wanting) to travel, so you cannot make a claim. Please contact your tour operator, travel agent, airline or accommodation provider to enquire about a possible refund or to change your trip dates. If you are not going to travel and no longer need your policy, we can offer you a 50% refund if you cancel it (this applies to single trip policies only). Please send us an email if this situation applies to yourself.
